The best computer to buy is the one that suits your needs. What do you do with your computer? How often do you use it? You can shop wisely for your new computer after you have decided its primary use.

Think about your car. If you only go to church on Sunday and to the store every few days, you do not need a Corvette. The same holds true with computers. Do not let a commission driven salesperson sell you the high-end model. All the bells and whistles are not going to enhance reading your email.

If you are a gamer, you need more power, graphics capabilities and memory that the person who checks their email and online bank balance a few times a week. Check the system requirements for the most resource hungry game you play. Make sure your new computer exceeds these requirements.

Compare feature for feature when shopping for a computer. Those that use proprietary components will be far more costly to repair. Buying locally instead of on-line can save future headaches if you need to return the item for warranty or repair work. In the computer world, a device is obsolete within a few months.

You may never have the latest and greatest computer for more than a few weeks, but it won’t detract from your computer experience in the least.
